News at the Course:
As of today, I am proud to say our number of memberships for the 2008 golf season is 272!  That is fantastic, and you know what; the weather hasn't even been that nice to golf, so I am sure we will have more memberships come forth.  Do your part and promote LVGC.
The number of pledges still sits at 129.  Just so you know, it is not too late to pledge some money to the course in your name or someone else's - and you could even do as many others; you could give a gift membership.  Since we have 280 members, less than half have pledged money.  There is plenty of time to do your part.  Even if you are someone who is not a member, but you are community-minded and know how important the LV is, you could pledge.  We have had wonderful people do just that.

Genealogy
A little girl asked her mother, "How did the human race appear?"

The mother answered, "God made Adam and Eve, and they had children and then all mankind was made."
Two days later the girl asked her father the same question.  The father answered, "Many years ago there were monkeys from which the human race evolved."

The confused girl returned to her mother and said, "Mom, how is it possible that you told me the human race was created by God, and Dad said they developed from monkeys?"

The mother answered, "Well, dear, it is very simple. I told you about my side of the family and your father told you about his."

Parting Thought:
"American Golfers"
A recent study found that the average American golfer walks about 900 miles a year.
Another study found American golfers drink, on average, 22 gallons of alcohol a year.
That means, on the average, American golfers get about  41 miles to the gallon.
Kind of makes you proud, doesn't it?!
